EES and ETIAS Reshape 2026 Europe Travel Rules
Starting in late 2025, the EU's Entry/Exit System (EES) tracks non-EU visitors' biometrics and stays at Schengen borders, fully operational by April 2026. ETIAS follows in late 2026, requiring visa-exempt travelers like Americans, Canadians, and Australians to get pre-approval online for short stays up to 90 days in 180. Apply via a simple form with passport details, background questions, and a €7 fee; approval links electronically to your passport, valid three years or until expiry.
