New US travel restrictions take effect January 1, 2026, expanding bans on visa issuance for nationals from 19 fully restricted countries and partial limits for 19 others, including Burundi, Cuba, Togo, and Venezuela. Full bans suspend immigrant and most nonimmigrant visas, while partial ones halt B-1/B-2 tourist/business, F student, M vocational, and J exchange visas.
