The country welcomed over 3.6 million visitors in 2025, with cruise tourism playing an increasingly vital role in this growth. For the 2026 season, authorities project approximately 139 cruise ship arrivals, with Montevideo expecting around 100 vessels and Punta del Este hosting 39.
