Portugal Ends Postal Visas for Brazilians, Requires In-Person
Portugal mandates in-person visa applications for Brazilian nationals starting April 17, 2026, ending the postal submission system introduced during the pandemic. Applicants must visit one of nine VFS Global centers or Portuguese embassies in Brazil to submit Schengen short-stay or national long-stay visas, allowing staff to verify original documents and biometrics on-site.
