Mexico Spot Raises Tourist Tax for 2026

Baja California Sur doubles down on its "Embrace It" tourist fee, raising it from 470 to 488 Mexican pesos-about $27 USD-for all international visitors over age 12 staying more than 24 hours. The tax, effective January 1, 2026, funds environmental protection, tourism infrastructure, waste management, clean energy, and eco-tourism education.
