Japan introduces JESTA, the Japan Electronic System for Travel Authorization, mirroring the U.S. ESTA to streamline entry and enhance security for visa-exempt visitors. Travelers from 71 to 74 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Indonesia, South Korea, and others, must submit online applications with personal details, travel plans, and fees before boarding flights or vessels by fiscal 2028.
