Japan Ends Walk-Ins at South India Visa Centers in 2026
From March 2, 2026, South Indian VFS Global centers in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Puducherry require mandatory appointments for all Japan visa submissions, ending walk-ins for tourist, business, student, and dependent visas. This shift, announced by VFS Global on February 21, addresses surging demand from Indian travelers, fueled by new direct flights like Chennai-Tokyo and events such as the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which caused long queues and three-hour waits.
