ICE seeks White House approval to buy a $70 million Boeing 737 Max 8 luxury jet equipped with a queen-sized bed, showers, kitchen, flat-screen TVs and a bar. Officials claim the plane cuts deportation flight costs by 40 percent compared to military aircraft and supports Cabinet travel, including for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. The Department of Homeland Security recently leased the jet, and two DHS officials expect the Office of Management and Budget to greenlight the purchase.
