EU Suspends Visa-Free Travel for Georgian Diplomats
The European Commission invokes its reinforced Visa Suspension Mechanism for the first time, reimposing short-stay Schengen visa requirements on holders of Georgian diplomatic, service, and official passports. The measure takes immediate effect and lasts 12 months until March 6, 2027, with potential extension up to two more years if governance issues persist.
