Africa's hotel development pipeline reaches a record 123,846 rooms across 675 hotels and resorts in 2026, up 18.6% year-over-year, with Egypt leading at 45,984 rooms in 185 properties. East Africa drives construction momentum, as Ethiopia and Kenya near 80% of rooms under construction and Tanzania hits 77.5%. Marriott tops operators with 31,782 rooms, while the top five chains control 80% of the pipeline.
